    No argument from me there.

If Jesus were around and had His own cable show, you'd probably be on here denouncing it, too.
Scripture bub. If your gonna put words in my Best Friends mouth you'd better have book, chapter and verse ready to back it up.

God is some heavy, heavy stuff, my friend.
True. But only for those whose burdens are heavy to begin with.

When Robertson says that the only place for a homosexual is Hell, he does not see it as Pat Robertson passing judgement on a sinner, he sees it as Pat Robertson telling a sinner what God has already put forth in writing.
Hence why I don't take this fool seriously. We are expressedly forbidden in Christianity to judge outsiders while they are alive because we have no clue what God's plan is for an individual. There are prostitutes, pimps, drug addicts, rapists, child molestors, thieves, liars, homosexuals, whoremongers, fornicators and every other type of sinner who the Bible says shall not inherit the Kingdom who are now true, born again, Spirit-filled Christians. God made the choice to save these individuals by His own mercy and righteousness, not by the opinions and idle judgements of men. Robertson, violates this commandment almost daily and will have answer for it come Judgement Day.

Now, that nonsense about about gays going to church to throw blood and to spit at the minister, that's enough to make God and the Devil shake their heads in stunned disbelief.
Are you joking? The devil is laughing his ass off.

  2. I didn't know religious debate was for entertainment purposes.

Maybe I should put together a religous debate TV show pilot for Comedy Central. Hrmm... Put a rabbi, Pat Robertson, one of those Islamic preists in Saudi Arabia that keeps telling Muslims to kill everybody, neo-con Pat Buchanan and Brigitte Boisselier from the Raelian movement in one room and watch what happens. It should be pretty funny, especially if we let them have their weapons of choice.

Can someone move this back to Sound Off please?

Christian fundamentalism is closer to Islamic fundamentalism than it is to Christianity.
Christians may have done a lot of good for Christians, but Islamic society, for one, was far more advanced than Christian society for about a thousand years, and Christian conquerers destroyed the cultures and knowledge of the Mayans and Aztecs.

Anyway, I find Jack Van Impe and Peter Popoff far less offensive but more amusing. You should check them out some late night. They're better than Comedy Central.
One day, I swear I will see Van Impe's movie designed to "help your family understand the coming apocalpyse" featuring Ray Sharkey and Howie Mandel action-packedly jumping through glass windows and staring down the antichrist, desert eagles in hand. Just like Jesus would.

Western civilization, burgundy. I appreciate the start that Islam gave us, it's a shame about the Mayans and Aztecs, but come on, art, science, literature, Christians/Western Culture has accomplished far more than the rest of the world, combined.

At least it did once we rediscovered pagan greek writings that the muslims had held onto, and brave rationalists faced down the religious elements who felt science and humanism were an affront to God.

Before that we pretty much lived in rags and did fuck all. China and Islam were kicking our ass in terms of science, art, literature and culture.

EDIT: That's not really a shot at anything except medieval religious thinking, but crediting Christianity with western success which was based on capital and cannons is a bit off in my estimation.

LOL...then what's your point? Christians have done more for Christian society than non-Christians?

We'd be far more advanced than we are now if Christian society had done more to assimiliate the knowledge of other cultures, or alternatively, if Islamic society had become dominant in Europe. I'd say that Christianiity has destroyed a lot more culture and knowledge on net than it has created.

That's absurd. Christianity evolved because it provided a breeding ground for the political and economic movements that propelled Western Civilization. Why didn't Islam do more with the Middle East, if it would've been so good for Europe? What, colonialism?

  10. Why? Since when has the Christian establishment ever been in favor of learning or progress?
