Thread: Intelligent Systems

  1. Intelligent Systems

Nintendo of Japan development branch located in Kyoto, Japan near Nintendo's main Kyoto office. Intelligent Systems was formed in late 1986 by a few former members of Nintendo Research & Development 1, and was immediately annexed by Nintendo.

Throughout its 15 year history, Intelligent Systems has developed system tools, programmed a few titles inconjunction with R&D1, as well as developed some titles on their own for parent publisher Nintendo Co., Limited.

Intelligent Systems is currently concentrating on Game Boy Advance development tools and a variety of Game Boy Advance titles.

Great stuff. I love IntSys. I'm just annoyed that every time I buy Paper Mario, my N64 won't run it.

Battleclash and Metal Combat are the best 16-bit gun games.

  3. i'd like to get my hands on Metal Combat a lot. i enjoyed Battleclash a lot, and i hear that Metal Combat is better in every single way.

i think their best 16-Bit stuff is Tetris Attack. but keep in mind i haven't played any of their import stuff what so ever. but then again, if we want to give them credit at all for Super Metroid, then yeah, that's easily the best work they did.

Metal Combat is just more of the same really. It feels a little too similar to Battleclash. I wouldn't say it's much better but it's well worth buying for Battleclash fans.

Galactic Pinball(VB) and Top Rank Tennis(GB)were also R&D1/IntSys games.

  5. Wow. I was unaware anyone else liked Battleclash.

Super Scope 6 was cool as hell.

  6. I absolutely love Intelligent Systems. Paper Mario and Advance Wars are easily among my favorite Nintendo games, and Fire Emblem looks really fantastic, I'm so glad they're finally bringing it over.
Buy Yakuza and Oblivion. Help yourself, help TNL.

I like BattleClash and Metal Combat... just wish there were more Super Scope games (BC, MC, Tin Star, Yoshi's Safari (ugh), the 6-game pack in. Am I missing anything?)

Intelligent Systems ranks pretty high up there for me, what with Metroid 3, Advanced Wars, etc. They've shown that they're pretty talented with different game types, and I second that motion to please see them work on some console stuff.

There's also Bazooka Blitzkreig, X-Zone and T2 for Super Scope games. Plus there's Konami's Lethal Enforcers but you might need the Justifier gun for it.

  9. Intelligent Systems is my favourite Nintendo dev team by far. Advance Wars is the best Nintendo game I have ever played. I have long desired to play the Fire Emblem series (in English) so I am hoping history does not repeat itself and that I'll finally get a chance to do so later this year.

There are way too many happy, warm, fuzzy, love-in threads around here lately.
