Thread: RPGs you've never finished...

  1. there are many games i just stopped playing.

suikoden 1 i got to the last boss only to have my official memory card fail so i snapped the game in half.

final fantasy 8 i got to disc 2 before getting bored to tears....same with ff9

ff 10 i got to the last part only to sell my ps2.

grandia 2 i was in the last dungeon and i sold my dreamcast

skies of arcadia i was at the end and same thing....sold my dreamcast

vagrant story bored me to tears

xenogears i just didnt have the patience for

shining force 3 very close to the end and just stopped playing

and if zelda ww is included i just beat the wind temple and finding the triforce pieces seems like a lesson in tedium. shame.

  2. FFV: I was in the final dungeon when my memory card erased itself. I really couldn't stand the characters at all, so I don't think I'll be going back anytime soon.

Valkyrie Profile: Tons of people around here recommend this, but I haven't been able to get into it. I've started over numerous times, make my way past the first major story point, and get bored as hell.

  3. The only rpg I own but I have never beaten is Vandal Hearts II. I just couldn't sit through it anymore, the first was was sooo much better. Other than that I have beaten all my rpgs.... I wasnt known as RPGRobert for nothing, lol

  4. Ha, nice thread.

Final Fantasy 8 - Simply didn't want to play anymore. I know I'm not the only one.

Final Fantasy 9 - I liked the game, I really did, but you had to navigate some maze of mountains around the end of disc 3, and a part me must've died or something, cuz that was the end of that. I plan to play it again, though.

Final Fantasy 6 - Oh man, I just recruited all these characters, and now I have to do it all over again! Hooray for me! *gag*

Final Fantasy Tactics - Strategy RPGs = boring.

Suikoden - I just started it and I planned on playing it straight through, but I'm 5 hours in and the game just hasn't grabbed me yet. I'll definitely get back to it, but right now saving the world from a severed forearm is my top priority. Sorry, Ted...

Skies of Arcadia - More than just a part of me died on this one. Sega should be paying for my health insurance.

Planescape: Torment - It's an excellent game, I just think I picked it up at the wrong time. I'll definitely give it another shot, though.
Well that's like, your opinion, man.

  5. RPGs I've Finished: Lunar: SSSC, Evolution (DC), Evolution (NGPC), Pokemon (hell, I think it counts), Panzer Dragoon Saga, FFIV, Chrono Trigger, Super Mario RPG, Paper Mario.
RPGs I stopped playing because I lost interest: FF V-X, Thousand Arms, Tales of Destiny I & II, Golden Sun, Lunar 2: EBC, .hack//infection, Albert Odyssey, and the list goes on...
I seriously just think I don't have the attention span for this stuff.

  6. RPGs I never finished?

Anything with the word "Xeno" in it.
Tales of Destiny 2. Wasn't as good as the first.
Lunar 2. Not as good as first.
Star Ocean 2. All around annoying.

  7. Legend of the Dragoon - The fact levels up come every boss fight, and no where else, just made it so I couldn't stand to play through it. A shame, though one day I'll finish it.

Breath of Fire III - The Desert, then my 100+ Save File got erased.

    Skies of Arcadia -
    Skies is Poop
NOt that much, but close enough.

Saga Frontier - I've completed Asellus, Red, and Blue's stories. I just can't get into the other ones.

Saga Frontier 2- Over 60 Hours, and along with my Breath of Fire III file... it got deleted I cried.

Final Fantasy V - I let a friend borrow it, and haven't gotten it back.

  8. It's rather reassuring seeing others simply stop playing like I have. It still annoys me though that I have so much time put into these games and I just stopped. I really want to know how they end (I want to play through, not be told) but now I don't think I remember what the hell was going on in the game.

I went idle on wind waker and Prime too. I plan on finishing them though.

Didn't we just talk about this?

    Anyway, to add:

Saga Frontier: Hate, hate, hate this game. I played it when it was first released, and just recently purchased it (for five bucks). I don't know that I intend to finish it; it was just so cheap I couldn't pass it up.

  10. It took me almost 7 years to finish the original Dragon Warrior.

Back in college (1997), I borrowed a copy of Suikoden from my friend. I played that damn game day and night for weeks on end until my friend took the game back- I failed 3 classes that semester (thanks, Konami).

I never got to finish the game, but I still have my save file. I just got myself a copy off of ebay, and I plan to finish it this summer.

I also never finished Kingdom Hearts, mostly due to the fact that I hate that game deeply. My sister finished it and videotaped the ending for me.
