Bah. You're just saying that because we're getting Double Dragon Advance instead of Shin Megami Tensei III.

  2. I can't believe you guys are ragging on Final Fantasy. I mean VIII had it's problems, but I'll be damned if IX and X didn't make up for it.

    Anyhoo... my list:
    Army Men
    Tomb Raider
    Crash
    Spyro

    well of hand anyway...

  3. Anybody who says Mario and Zelda needs a wooden bat to the back of the noggin'.

    Mario
    Zelda

No no, I kid I kid.

Um, I really don't know. My list is just going to turn out with games I personally don't like, or franchises I personally don't like which means jack squat to the industry.

Probably Army Men games, If I had to choose.

    I also dislike DOA

I love Super DD, but all of the other games have aged like shit.

  5. I still like a lot of the games mentioned in this thread, and don't want them cease their respective series.

Maybe so, but I still enjoy the NES versions of DD2 and DD3 today, as well as the first two Arcade games (but that's just me). Bad aging really isn't a good reason to diss a game or series (with that reasoning, the first Final Fantasy and Dragon Warrior games shouldn't have existed either). I want to see what Technos will have in store for the beat-em-up genre with the 128-bit consoles.

No,I would say they had 6 in a row. 7 is where they messed up. 8 was awsome.9 was ok, more like one of those RPG's that tried to copy FF.10 is the worst in the series straight out.

FFVIII is the best FF after leaving Nintendo, easily.

  8. Any sports franchise that doesn't change much from year to year
    Megaman
Sonic, Mario and any other mascot platformer that's been beaten to death already.

I'm just sick of endless variations of:
Mario 10 - Mario with a vaccum cleaner
Mario 25 - Mario with lawn mower
    etc etc
    or
Sonic 15 - Sonic meets Knuckles, again
Sonic 30 - Sonic meets Amy AND Knuckles.
Sonic 40 - Sonic meets Tails and Amy, but NOT Knuckles!
    etc etc etc

Oh, and dare I say it... KING OF FIGHTERS?
Right, because if anything validates the existance of a handheld piece of shit, it's taking those shitty handheld games and placing them on a screen big enough so that the inherent flaws of the software is visible to all humans. Including Ray Charles.

  9. You guys are confusing me. I thought this thread was about series that were never good. Most of you are posting games that started off great or ended up great so why discard them now?

    Anyway, my vote goes to:

    Army Men
    Tomb Raider

these games have been and will always be shit. Every last one of them (including the new TR)!

God answered our prayers about Army Men

  10. Yep, I agree with just about everything mentioned in the thread, though I feel Tekken 2 was the best of that franchise.
