windows wants your blood. Yeah, that must be it.
Okay, this probably sounds kinda weird, because it is.
Suddenly, my keyboard, mouse, and "selecting abilities" have seemed to have gone crazy.
Keyboard: Randomly goes into capslock
Mouse: instead of scrolling, the mouse wheel now does "forward" and "back" in explorer
"Selecting abilities": This means that I can no longer click on stuff on the desktop, windows explorer, or even in this little text box on the board. It simply highlights everything from the very first available point. So if I click on an icon, it highlights that icon, and everything above/below it.
does anyone have any idea whats going on? It just suddenly happened while I was surfing, and now I'm royally pissed...
[edit]
Okay, what the hell, it just fixed itself...
Now I'm scared.
Can anyone give a rational explaination for this, or is it just windows fucking with my head again...
windows wants your blood. Yeah, that must be it.
Well..it fixed itself..so good. First off..after rebooting just play around in Windows for awhile and see if anything happens. Also, why not do a thorough cleaning of your pc.
Use Virus scanning, Ad/Spyware removing, cleaning cookies and IE cache..etc. Its probably nothing cause my optical mouse started going nuts of me for no good reason while online and then just died. A good reboot fixed it and I just cleaned up my PC for good measure.
One time my optical mouse went to hell in a bad way during a clan match of Team Fortress Classic. I rebooted, and everything was fine. That was the day I realized Bill Gates had stolen my soul.
I didn't even reboot... It fixed itself while I was typing out this topic!
actually, I did reboot, I virus scanned, did a registry check, but that didn't fix it, that's why i made the topic.
... whatever, at least everything is fine now.
Sometimes mice go bad or are going bad and will cause stuff like this, if it happens again replace the mouse with another.
The mouse is fine, so is your computer..
The keyboard's shift key was stuck on.
make sure there is nothing wedged in the key, or you didnt spill anything on it recently. If the problem comes back, pitch the keyboard.

that's probably it
That happens to me all the time, too. Apparently intellimice have shitty cords that rip easily, because every single time that problem happens with me power to the mouse dies after I tried to get more slack on the cord. Then, randomly, it'll go to the top-right corner of my screen, and right click all over the place. I have to give the computer the three-finger-salute to fix it.Originally posted by Lobo
