A sequel/side-story on the PSP and a remake on the PS3 would be hot.
I still play FF7 on my PS1 all the time and still enjoy as much as the first time I played it. The main reason I want a remake on the PSP is so I could play FF7 anywhere. I could care less if it was an exact copy of the game, that would be fine with me.I'm sure a remake would make tons of money. But in my opinion, FF7 hasn't withstood the test of time the same way earlier games in the series have, which is why so many people want a remake. After all, if the game was really as good as people remember, they'd just whip out their PSX FF7 disc and play it on their PSOnes or PS2's instead of wanting a revamped game with better graphics, etc.
And as for the story of FF7-2, they could do a Lunar, Lunar 2 kind of thing and just have it take place in the future and have the main problem relate to what happened in 7.

Yeah, plus FFT, Ehrgeiz, Chocobo Racing, and Kingdom Hearts established that they had both found a method for traversing dimensions, and Cloud was pursuing Sephiroth across space-time. A game built around that could be very very cool, especially if Cloud could recruit heroes from other FFs (and maybe the Crono and Mana games too).Originally posted by Ragnarok the Red

Also, if I remember correctly, Sephiroth did not definitively die at the end of VII, so it could also have something to do with his returning for revenge on Midgard (was Midgard right?) or with Cloud chasing him down to finish him off.
Lots of potential directions for the story to go.
And then they could call it Final Fantasy VII: Fanservice Edition.
Sephiroth wouldn't be wearing a shirt right?
excellent
but i thought that was ff x-2.Originally posted by 88mph

I would not want them to hunt for Aeris or some stupid bullshit like that. I saw her die, and I don't want her back.Originally posted by Ragnarok the Red

Actually, Omni, there are some things Square could do with VII-2. For one thing, people who've followed the history of the series closely know VII was supposed to have multiple endings, one of which you brought Aeris back to life. If VII-2 were to happen, it would probably follow along this type of story arc much like X-2 is about Yuna trying to find Tidus after he went bye-bye at the end of X.

Sephiroth, however, was cool as hell, and I'd totally welcome his return. But if my Omnislash didn't kill him then what will?! Poor Cloud will have his work cut out for him.
Heh, I don't see how he would've gotten his shirt back. There's no way that wherever-the-hell-they-were-when-they-fought place had extra shirts lying around.Originally posted by Kidnemo

And Sephiroth is pure hunk anyway. Girls are gonna come into Gamestop in droves for this one.
This is fanservice no matter how you slice it. And I wouldn't have it any other way.Originally posted by 88mph

Well that's like, your opinion, man.

It's Sephiroth, I'm sure he has the power to just manifest another shirt. It has to be pretty cold up there at the North Crater, he wouldn't want to get caught when it was nippy outside.
