I didn't think these movies were funny. And I don't see why they wouldn't show them on television? They show much worse public awareness ads here about drunk driving and domestic violence.

Why didn't the waitress smash the coffee pot across his face, anyway? I've never understood the passive response to violence.

People who've been victimized aquire that response. They freeze up in this sort of situation and are unable to respond like a "normal" person would. For example, if a girl is raped or molested at a very young age, it'll likely happen to her again. And when it does she'll freeze instead of fighting off her attacker. Rapists are very good at seeking out good victims, and people who've been molested/abused are very good at seeking out the type of person that will perpetuate the abuse.

This is what happens when you listen to a lot of Loveline folks.

Come on, I don't see how anyone couldn't laugh at the little girl in the first video. Right before her dad goes berserker barrage on the waitress, they show a clip of his daughter coloring and she rolls her eyes and sighs with a certain "Oh shit, daddy is gonna strangle another waitress" look on her face. That little girl is gonna win an Oscar one day.

Wow, that was a stupid thing to say. You just drew a parallel between a statement about the way guys' brains are wired and videos depicting some pretty vicious violence against women. I don't think you're allowed to be quite that dumb.
