The only problem with that is that the Gamecube makes Nintendo money with every purchase... so it's not they'd be giving up their market share for no real reason. (they have more usebase then Xbox right now, thus their games are the focus of their own console)

If the two got together to make a system, and released it too the public, what would happen if one or both of the companies wanted to independently own the next council? How would they begin working on competing councils while their partnered one still would have a good one, two, or three years left of shelf time?
