Thread: Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

  1. JP-style RPGs make me want to open a vein.

    Can't wait for KOTOR, though.

    Agreed.

Ahh, my mistake. I often get them confused.

Anyone know if the camera is static or not?
Well that's like, your opinion, man.

    As do I...evedently.

It doesn't look like it, which is a good thing either way. Either you can control it, or you can't but it's so intuitive you don't notice.

  4. Well I'd much rather it be player-controlled. I'm sucker for that.

But I suppose I can fly either way.
Well that's like, your opinion, man.

third vote for opposite here. j-rpg's are played out for me, western ones at least give you a semblance of actually being in the role(morrowind) ather than beign there to watch the pretty movies.

They also tend to give an unparalleled degree of control during character creation, skill ups, and general disposition (I.E. they actually let you ROLE PLAY).

You might as well just read a damned novel than play a j-RPG.

  7. ...says the man who played through Xenosaga twice.

I happen to agree, though. But I still love my JP RPGs.

Like NeoZ has said before, if only those quirky Japs can combine the style of their RPGs with the freedom of Western RPGs...well I think you can use your imagination.

    Oh yeah?! Well...well...shut up!

I love jRPGs, too, but to say they are better than US RPGs is a falacious statement. If you like them better, that's a totally different bag.

Well I never said they were better. In fact, I said that I agree with you. So, uh, yeah...
Well that's like, your opinion, man.
