I was on a Gigawing 2 kick at the time, and people said that game wasn't that great, so I ignored the negativity and went for it. My mistake. Unless you want it for collection purposes, it's pretty damn bad. The ugliness has been covered well, but I could look past that if the rest was solid. It isn't.
The control is hard to describe, it seems to stop responding mid-"stride" or drift a second after you stop. It just isn't very tight. The scoring system and "Hug Launcher" I found to be lame as well.
For the scoring system, part of it was due to the bad control, when trying to go after the falling pieces. The other half is just the way the concept was executed. It all just feels so sloppy. Some games I would get a much higher score and I couldn't tell why - I didn't do anything drastically different. Maybe it's because of the randomness of the Hug Launcher. I could never figure out whether I could actually control the direction it went or not. Whether that's true or not, compared to Gigawing 2 and Mars Matrix, it's really lacking in depth.
The level design isn't terrible, but it's really uninspired. You'll get some some half-decent patterns here or there. The bosses aren't saving it any face. They typically lasted about 10-15 seconds. Pretty forgettable.
Yeah, the bosses were lame, but I didn't have the control issues you seemed to.
Forgettable designs/drab graphics
No pause button
Little in the way of extras
Unbalanced levels
I do like the core gameplay but the game is sloppy. *-neo

I thought it was called the Hog Launcher, but I've never seen an official Romanization. I suppose it could also be a Hag Launcher.Originally posted by James

Hog Launcher makes more sense but I'm now stuck on the idea of the Hug Launcher weapon. Too late to change it now.
