I wonder why Sega didn't force them to stop. Either they don't care, or lawyers don't take Sega seriously, either.

After five and a half years work, it seems as if Sonic Team Jr. is finally nearing completion on the game. Final Demo 1.4 is out, and I'm anticipating my playing it after my download finishes.
For those who don't know, Sonic Robo Blast 2 is the Sonic fan game of which a screenshot was shown in what was supposed to be GameGO! Issue 2. It's 3D and runs off the Doom engine (Legacy, I think). It's mighty impressive, and I suggest you give it a shot.

That just makes me laugh. A 3D Sonic using the original Doom engine?Originally posted by ChaoofNee

I'm still all over this when I get back to my PC though, certainly sounds interesting enough.
Doom Legacy, eh? Actually, I could see a great 2.5d platformer being made with that.
Downloading the demo.
...
Okay, so maybe it isn't 2.5d.
Edit:
Wow. All things considered, it's pretty damn cool.
It looks good, it's fast as hell, and it actually feels like a Sonic game.
If it had more/better enemies and camera-relative control, it'd be perfect.
Tain summed it up. But, this is a VERY nice distraction![]()
Strange...
I look in the options, see an "analog control" option, try to turn it on, and it doesn't work. Then, I load up my saved game, and what happens?
Camera-relative control.
An after checking the options, the analog option was, somehow, activated.
Now that I've played further into it, forget what I said. The enemies are nice, and the control isn't bad. Very, very impressive.
I'm just at Techno Hill zone, but it's fun.
Yeah, well I was reading the forum. One of those admins sounds like a jackass.
Not that has much bearing on the game. I just envision a place where non-commercial game makers are all nice guys.
More people need to try this.
If they fixed up the level design and some stupid little things (it doesn't save the camera-relative control option or the camera rotation speed, and you don't have much air/dash control), this would pretty much be a sprite-based Sonic Adventure.

Doesn't run on this (not mine) PC.
