Return Fire
Herzog Zwei
Strategy games have been my most neglected genre, especially those of the non-RPG variety. After being very impressed with Advance Wars and finally playing Military Madness after all these years, I'm interested in checking out other games I have missed. Any recommendations(besides the rest of the Nectaris series)?

To tell you the truth, War bases Strategy games are much better in real time than turnbased, IMO, and there is such a great selection of awesome WW2 real time strats.

Turn-based War Strategy Games
Turn based? War setting?
Combat Mission series, PC.
It's a bit overkill, as far as detail goes, but you can get demos at http://www.battlefront.com/ . Probably not a good game to try if you're new to turn-based strategy, but everyone seems to love it.
/me goes back to Jagged Alliance 2.
Is Advanced Wars really the best of these games? I ask because I just got it a week ago and I'm addicted to it, and also because I showed it to a friend and he said (after just a glance, really) that it's just like any other game in the genre.

AW and AW 2.
X-Com (Hey, it's war with the Aliens)
Best might be Advanced Daisen Riyaku (or whatever). Quite good but language prohibitive.
yes. hyperbole aside, x-com is possibly my favorite game of all time. at least make sure you try it..Originally posted by MVS

Final Fantasy Tactics is kinda like a TBS game.
However, all you really need is Advance Wars; why even bother with anything else when you have the best?
Also, I'm sure that you've played more games than anyone else here, Neozeed. If anyone would know, it would be you![]()
Iron Storm on Sega Saturn is quite good.
