If you were on a deserted island with 1 game franchise

Ok, it's time for another of those pointless questions...

If you can only take all games from ONE franchise to a deserted island with you, which one would you choose?

For example if you choose Metal Gear, you would get all the Metal Gear games ever made to play for the rest of your life, but nothing else.

I would choose King of Fighters, for obvious reasons. It would satsify all the requirements for story, variety, music, and gameplay.

Mario. Because almost every game is excellent, there's a lot of variety in the series, and it covers both 2d and 3d.

Well...I could go with Mario because there's a lot of them and they're all good.

If we could do this a few months ater, I could go with Deus Ex. Two games, but assuming the second one is just as good, two fantastic games.

Star Wars. I can get flight sims, action games, MMORPGs, adventure games, shmups, racers, FMV games, and even chess from that one series. I am well aware that many are average at best, but at least there is a lot of variety.

i was going to say the same thing. especially if it covers mario spin-off games. eg. tennis, golf, kart..

I thought about this after Ikaruga came out. I don't have the time or inclination to master a game like that in real life. It would be the perfect thing to take on a desert island however because it could very well take you an eternity to utterly conquer it (assuming you don't have WIZ-like skills). So my answer would be some shmup series, maybe just RSG and Ikaruga actually (asuming those are considered the same franchise). Pretty much any other genre and you'd end up completely owning the games in a relatively much smaller amount of time.

Or maybe the Might & Magic or Ultima games. That would take awhile.

Or maybe the Gran Turismo series. You could spend forever shaving milliseconds off your times.

Sonic.

Why? First of all - there are plenty of games and almost all of them are top notch A+ efforts. The games span many eras and styles (genres). Being stuck on an island I would finally have the time to collect all of the emblems in Sonic Adventure 1 and 2, not to mention the puzzle pieces in Sonic Pocket and the Chaos Emeralds in the two Advance games.... so there is plenty to accomplish in the games.
