There is a great show on the Discovery channel called
"Mega-Tsunamis" about this.
They actually take you to the Canary Islands, and inside of that mountain to show you exactly what's going on.
It's quite fascinating. They show it all the time so keep your eyes open and you'll catch it.
The first thing that came to mind was "Damn, the air conditioner will be out for a while if that happened."
