Bandai announced they will release a new Macross action shooter for PlayStation 2 in Japan in October, the game is being developed by Sega AM2. The story is based on the first TV series of Macross, feature both air and ground battles. The game is currently 70% completed, and it is developed by the developer of Sega's Aero Dancing series.

not a fan of the series, but i've seen dog fight footage. tons of potential here. hoping for the best.
Wait...
A Macross game that doesn't suck?
So...how's that Aero Dancing game?

looks pretty cool. let's see if they can top what Namco has done in the genre.
Hell yes. Capcom did justice to the original Gundam series, this looks to top it.

Damn! This game is going to rock!
The developer that did Aerodancing just got absorbed by AM2 not too long ago. So I don't think aerodancing really counts as an AM2 game. The closest we have to compare is Afterburnerr but that's old.Originally posted by Green

Hopefully the rest of AM2 gives them a hand, since aerodancing wasn't that good.
Namco? Don't tell me you're comparing a Macross game to that of the Ace series. I'm sure there'll be different play styles involved with each configuration which is something that Namco has yet to do. It's confusing why you'd even bring up Namco here. The two games/series are entirely different, I'm predicting.Originally posted by Lucas Barton

cause i still consider them to be in the same genre. i also haven't play any games in the series, so i odn't know what's been done with them. besides, being that this is AM2 (well, they are now atleast), im sure this game will be arcadey.
