To continue this trend: Was it a US commercial? What time and channel? And though I've not seen the game in motion, I too am glad I reserved it.

No, it was a Japanese commercial. I live in Japan (until this friday). The USA version isn't due until November or so, yeah?

There are also Limited Editions versions of the XBOX (has artbook I think) and PS2 which comes in a bigger box and has a Sayo figure... though I'd prefer a Hyuga wolf god figure

"Artbook" is being a bit generous. It's more like a manual sized pamphlet. The original release also came with some stuff like a plastic lithograph, phone card etc. but that were stuff handed out to people buying the game in Japan rather than a packaged LE.

Needless to say, Shikigami no Shiro Evolution on Xbox is all you need. Got a new copy for $15 recently

I'm so fucking excited. That puts the number of games I'll be getting this fall to a whopping 2: Border Down and Shikigami no Shiro 2. Good thing I already picked up the import of Viewtiful Joe.

I better spread the word. This is the kinda thing I'll need to be all over. I'm gonna post some topics at GameFAQs and change my sig like I did with Ikaruga.

AlfaSystem will release an Xbox version of Shikigami No Shiro 2 in limited quantity, due to the Xbox market condition in Japan, they are considering releasing the game in direct sales, such that they will release 1000 units a time when orders are received.
