If Shenmue is the main focus, then I'm hoping it'll mean he's able to freely work through all the chapters instead of ending on III.

Sega's president Hisao Oguchi has confirmed that Yu Suzuki will leave Sega-AM2 to establish his own development studio. Suzuki will head a new Sega subsidiary which will focus exclusively on popular series including Shenmue and Virtua Fighter.
This is great news, if only because it gives us more reason to believe that Shenmue III is in development.

I hate to be a pessimist but I believe it will end with 3 no matter what. I don't think he will take a chance of not finishing it because if it sells as shitty as the last 2 there won't be another one anyway.
