The European Union is pretty much an Empire. It's military power is so pathetic it would require US intervention in it own sphere of influence, which is undermining it's validity. It's possibly a good thing, but too many nations (ones with petty dictators and such) are left out of the golden benefits of the Union. It's kind of like, here in the US, politicians fight over restructureing because they don't want to get any poor and high crime areas under the assumption (which is based on figures) that the people in this area don't vote. Or perhaps like how rich neighborhoods have a Home Owners Organization which will kick out any slob in the neighborhood who they feel decreases the value of thier own homes. The EU seems to ignore the nations, but that won't make them go away. It may be because the leadership feels that forceing the nations in militraily (the remanining nations are mostly dictatorships and will likely not be given up) would seem like Imperialism. But I don't think I could fault them (just as how I cannot fault the politicians for wanting better districts or home owners trying to perserve thier own property) but I'm sure quite a few would cry foul.

I am concerned about Liberia. thankyouverymuch, but starting thread after thread on a forum won't do anything. All I can do is show my support for action there if action happens, and vote accordingly if the government wants to sit on the problem. Same with North Korea. Same with anything.

I'm not seeing the connection, and I don't care to. You want to talk about Liberia? Then talk. But stop sweeping in all 'controversial' and inflammitory for the sake of being controversial. Uhg...in a thread about Uday, were you really expecting someone to bring up Liberia? Is it a necessary requirement, otherwise all who participate are unfeeling fools? Are you really that off the hinge, or do you do it the same reason Marlyn Manson does - as a gimmick to get attention?

I was first very angry when I read your gross generalization, but not anymore. Just because you're acting foolish doesn't mean I have to. If anything, if you do this to intentionally piss people off, all I'm doing is giving the just attention you want. I'm not here to boost your ego or make you feel like a freedom fighter against the establishment, some iconoclast on the brinks of self-realization that the unwashed masses have no right experiencing.
