USB TV tuner??
didn't realize they existed.
Hi,
I was wondering if anyone has had any experience using a USB TV Tuner on a laptop to play console games?
I am trying to find an easy solution to play my console games for when I go to school, instead of buying a heavy TV.
If not, can you recommend any other solutions?
Thanks in advance.

USB tuners typically give out a terrible picture quality with videogames. An internal card of some kind may work better, though...
I've been trying to find a PCMCIA internal card for my laptop, but I haven't seen one to purchase yet.Originally Posted by Zerodash

ATi makes an external USB TV Tuner with co-ax and S-Video inputs, but I'm not sure if the output is of good quality.
The best place would be www.rage3d.com
There's a forum for all of the TV tuners, and you're sure to get a good answer. Maybe even some pics, I dunno. I was going to get that myself, but at the time, I don't think there were reliable XP drivers for it.
Thanks. I'll give that forum a try.Originally Posted by BoBVila

I have a ATI usb tuner, and it will work for gaming, but not great. The resolution sucks, and it stutters occasionally because of the slow USB 1.1 bus. A Win TV USB that I tried at work was similar. They are both playable, though.
I've got a TV in on my video card though, it works fine with no delays, although it's nowhere near VGA-box quality.
i was in your posirtion about a month ago, even posted a similiar thread in sound off. I came to the conclusion that there is no viable solution. Buy yourself a tv or switch to PC games.
Don't buy a "heavy tv" buy a Sony KV-1311CR RGB monitor.
You'll thank me later.
Where can I score one?Originally Posted by 88mph
