Thread: Any Good Domestic PS2 Arcade Sticks?

  1. Any Good Domestic PS2 Arcade Sticks?

I just bought a Shadowblade 2 from Gamestop for $15 and let me just say that it's an unresponsive piece of shit. The one I got was a bit defective, too (wouldn't switch between analog and digital). Now, I'm going to return it (box, directions, and styrofoam included) and exchange it for Pelican's little arcade stick (The $19.99 one), but I figured I'd post here and ask for opinions before I went. Now, is this stick good, or are there any that are better? All I want is to play GGX2 and the upcoming KoF games with it...
...and is there a way to convert my DC ASCII sticks to the PS2?

  2. Just get the Hori SC2 stick, any other stick that you can buy blows or it will cost you twice as much (mas)

  3. HORI Tekken 4 or SC2 sticks are the best (decent base, great stick and button placement), all the western sticks are really poor.

  4. What about this joystick here?

Anybody heard anything about it? It at least looks like the real thing, but I've never used one or heard from anybody who has.

  5. Arcade X is a good stick.

  6. If you value your fingers I wouldn't even consider using that stick.

  7. I honestly don't think it would be that hard at all to replace the pcb in your ascii stick with a ps/ps2 pcb. If you still want to use the ascii stick for DC games, then I really don't know about having two pcbs in your ascii stick. The hori sticks are expensive, and I think might have the same parts as the ascii stick (sanwa?).

I saw a pretty good guide for using either the pelican or shadowblade guts for making a custom stick with happ parts. It required no soldering, and you just need a crimping tool (if you don't know how to solder). I don't know what the site was, but maybe someone here has a link.

  8. I dunno... i'm interested in this thing now:

Holy fuck, lookit the size of that thing...
Then there's this universal thing with no image...

    What about this one, though?

I haven't found anything on the cheap Pelican one I mentioned before, though...EDIT: Here's the fucker:

I'm really curious about this one...

  9. ASCII and HORI sticks are totally different. HORI sticks are more authentic whilst the ASCII ones feel like a toy.

  10. I have to say to go with the SCII stick. I have the VF4 Evo stick, and if the quality is as similar as I expect it is, then the SCII stick is probably the best PS stick you could ever want. I'm probably going to get one sooner or later myself. It may be high-end, but there just isn't much choice in the stick market unless you go high-end.
