Thread: What is this most time you've spent on one game?

On that note, I guess I am the only former EQ addict here. I played from Beta 4 until just before the second expansion. I played almost all day every day this entire period. EQ > Life That kind of play time is measured in:
    A) Days
    B) GPA
    C) Relationships ruined
    D) All of the above

Thankfully I had beaten the habit and now have been playing SWG - my first MMORPG since the Crack. This time it's a bit different, I set a small goal and play till I reach it, 5000 crafting experience, 20K credits, etc. Keeps things in check a bit. I still see myself plugging away but I am in control of the game this time. Plus SWG (as stated up there somewhere) gets to be downright ridiculous at times (47K crafting experience for the next level at 120 per unit and 6 units a minute - all this constant *click click click click click* Diablo style).

Oh. And FFIV stops at the 99:99 mark so I have no idea exactly how long it took me to get the goddamn Pink Tail.

Course that's nothing on some of you guys.

No other summon does nearly as much damage as Knights of the Round.

Omnislash actually does more damage than Knights, but you don't get to use it that much.

I don't know man, I'll take his word for it, but Ruby Weapon was still fairly difficult even with Knights of the Round and the Megalixer trick.
Well that's like, your opinion, man.

  3. Am I the only one who got my fill of PSO after about 25 hours of play? I played through Episodes I & II, got a couple of levels into hard mode, and realized that from here on out I would be listening to pre-pubescent kids screaming for "TEH RAREZ" constantly while playing through the same levels over and over and occassionally finding a cool item. Cool game, but I don't understand why you'd pour six hundred hours of your life into it.
Well...same reason why you play shooters or beat em ups or any other game over and over again....it's fun, despite the fact you're playing the same levels over and over...you're trying to level up your character while raising your mag...trust me mag raising is one of the most addictive aspects of PSO...and playing with each different class, is a whole different experience...that's why PSO has such huge replayability...
Right, because if anything validates the existance of a handheld piece of shit, it's taking those shitty handheld games and placing them on a screen big enough so that the inherent flaws of the software is visible to all humans. Including Ray Charles.

You're thinking all wrong, damage has nothing to do with killing Ruby proper. The summon with... I can't remember exactly, was it a train or was it something green like a giant mixing bowl and poison? In any case, whatever high level summon that doesn't do much damage but causes every status effect in the game is what you're after. Cast that (Mime if you must) and Ruby drops right to sleep. Now rape it however you please. Eventually it'll wake up, and repeat until it's dead.

Hmm, from the sound of it you seem to be talking about Carbunkle.

Well consider me enlightened. Though that certainly doesn't sound like the ideal way to kill him.

  6. *drops by GameFAQs* Hmm... I think it's Hades, that sounds about right. I think it had a skeleton (the whole mixing bowl thing I mentioned above was part of it) and I think I got the train from FFVIII (which I believe was the status effect summon in that game).

In any case, for a fast way of killing it you should create a large Materia combo that sucks off HP and MP. If you can junction it to a summon and then mime that as fast as possible, you can kill it just as easy as using KOTR, it just takes longer.

You could also junction a counterattack materia to HP and MP absorb and try to pump up your strength to as high as possible, BUT do not equip Cloud's ultimate weapon (whazzit name?). That weapon deals damage based on your health level, and when Ruby attacks you'll drop to only a couple hundred health which will make the entire counterattack and absorb utterly worthless. I accidently did that, making that fight drag out three times as long as it should have. In any case, so long as Hades is in there and that counterattack is set up properly Ruby's death is clay in your hands; free to shape however you like.

You pretty much said everything up there.
Just curious, is it that much out of the ordinary? You sound like you hope I'm lying.

  8. Over one hundred hours for sure???
