They're starting a PUBLIC school, I.E. taxpayers who will not get to choose where their tax dollars are allocated will be forced to contribute, quite possibly against their concience.
That's what the big deal is. If it were a private school, fine, as the only people paying will be those who want to either attend the school, or donate funds willingly. But it isn't.

I suggest you stop paying taxes and say that you have a moral objection to Social Security and see how far that gets you.
It bothers you that much, lobby together and get the superintendent of the schools booted and so on.

I never said it bothered me. All I did was answer your question, "what does it matter?".
This point is where the whole argument stems from. If the government is forcing us to pay for a Gay school, shouldn't they also force us to fund Christian schools and Black schools? The answer is yes. And the argument pricipitates from there.
Personally, I think it's a joke. I don't find it so important that a seperate school needs to be build, even if it were private. Kids are mean. And eventually all kids deal with other kids. Some are more mean than others, and sometimes they just can't take it. They should be taught to suck it up, not that if they have a problem it can become some kind of cause.

It's because they're pushing an agenda. Not all of them; this is not a predjudiced statement. However, the people seeking to do this are, in fact, pushing an agenda.
Sexual orientation should have nothing to do with schooling. But these people seek to drag it into every aspect of everyone else's lives. These people, of course, being those, exclusively, who seek out this type of action.

Anywho, this is a dumb idea. I am against all black schools, all-Christian schools, etc etc. The more seperated people become, the more hate will brew across the world. People dislike what they cannot understand/feel for, and when it's put at a further distance....it makes things worse. School is school--race, sexuality, religion, etc....shouldn't be a factor in the learning process.
