Crosses fingers for U.S. release -- I loved FM3 and played the heck out of it.
Square Enix has announced that it will be porting the original Front Mission to the PS One, renamed as Front Mission 1st.
The game was originally released for the Super Famicom in 1995, though it never made it's way to the US. The game's protagonist, Roid (you do get to name him whatever you want), is the head of the Oceana Community Union, or OCU. You are also introduced to the USN, the faction that stands against Roid, and much political upheaval follows.
This remake will include a scenario that shows the USN side of things from the perspective of a character named Kevin, and will reveal much about events that happened outside the story.
Yoshitaka Amano, of Final Fantasy fame, will be illustrating, and the game is set to be released in October in Japan

"50,000! You scored 50,000 points on Double Dragon?"
Heh, then you'll be happy to know that Toshirou Tsuchida wants to work on remakes for both 2 and 3 as well. We're supposed to hear about confirmation of this at the TGS.Originally Posted by ssbomberman
