Thief I & II Question

I was looking to pick up the Thief I & II Bundle or Thief Gold for the PC. Does anyone know if they will play on Windows XP?

I know Thief 1 does 'cause I just installed it the other day, can't speak for 2 though I'd assume it does as well

From what I hear from my thief obsessed best friend, Thief 2 does not run on XP. But I could be wrong about that, so....you may just have to find out for yourself.

I've been waiting to play this game since it came out (my PC sucks). I just bought a new machine last week and pick it up on Friday and Thief 2 was going to be one of my first installs.

Somebody please confirm it doesn't work?

I looked at the Thief I/II box at Best Buy and it says under requirements:

"XP not supported"

i have thief 2 and xp worked fine for me when i applied the latest patch. it was an update from 98 though. While we're on the subject, anybody know the release date for thief 3?

If you're talking about Thief Platinum, which is just the original Thief 1 and 2 with the patches, they'll both run on XP once you get them installed.
There's something you need to type in to install them in XP, but I don't remember it, so check out http://www.ttlg.com and read the FAQ in the Thief forum. That should get you started.

I used to be regular on the Thief forums back in 2000 'till I got banned.

When I buy Thief II it'll be the original ('cause I need the pyramid box and hotkey card) but if the Platinum patched version works I don't see why the original with a downloaded patch wouldn't also work. Cool.
