    Help me name the game!

Remember a few years ago, when there used to be a chain of stores called Incredible Universe? They were kinda like Best Buy, except better. They had a whole games section, with every system set up to play: Neo Geo, CD-i, Jaguar, Genesis, SNES, etc. Now, me and a friend of mine played there a lot, and we once played a cartoon game (a la Dragon's Lair and Space Ace), and I want to know what it was, and what system it was for. This is the best place I can think of to ask.

Alls I remember is a stage where you fought a giant snake, a desert level (there was a level map between stages), a level where you ride in a bowl-thing, and many instances where you had to mash the button to get more power, power, POWER! One time it happened was when you were pushing against a door, trying to open it. Oh, and in the first level, beetles attacked you.

Well, if anyone remembers any of this, it'd be greatly appreciated!

  2. I believe the game you are thinking of is Strahl. I could be wrong, but it sounds like it. I've only played the demo though.....

I just looked it up, and I think that may be it... I'll have to try to get my hands on it now... GameFAQs sez that it's out for the import Saturn! If anyone has the Saturn version and would be willing to sell or trade, PM me!

  4. Another game like Dragon's Lair was Brain Dead 13, but that description does'nt sound like the same game.

Incredible Universe is now Fry's Electronic's. I like it better when it was IU.

Is there more than one game called Strahl?

The one I know of is a horizontal shooter not an FMV game.

  6. the fmv game sounds very familiar. i think i played it on LD way way back, but it wasn't called Strahl. at least i'm pretty sure it wasn't. the description Mzo gave is really making me go nuts trying to remember its name. i think there was a version of it that came out on the 3DO which might have been called Strahl.

    gotta do some more searching...

You might be thinking of Stahlfeder.

    Nah, I wasn't thinking of Stahlfeder, I know that's a different game.

Strahl is a much older game by UPL.

  10. Mzo,
Keep an eye on www.wolfgames.com . Matt has gotten Strahl in before. You could try emailing him and asking if he can get it again. From my experience it's stayed in the $20 and under price range for a used one. Good luck!
