Well this is just like, my opinion, man, but barring a few exclusives, the PS2 (not even considering the fact that it's backwards compatible with PS1) has everything that GC and Xbox have...plus more.

In short, if I were to have only one system, it would definitely be the PS2.
Well that's like, your opinion, man.

  3. I'd like to say Turbo Duo/PC Engine, but honestly a good chunk of the games are pain to find for reasonable prices.

    Instead I'll go with:

    GAMEBOY ADVANCE

For the most educated members of the game populace, I can't believe the number of people who bash it and blame it for the demise of console 2D. It has nearly every major game series out there and it's competent hardware (especially GBA SP).

actually, i was genesis man back then.

i do enjoy about a handful of games on the system a good amount, but for the most part, everything i see now a days aged like shit.

because of that, i don't see it as a must own system.

While I'm not shocked that most people don't own one, I'm surpised by the number of "educated" gamers on TNL that don't own a PCE, and the comparatively small number of threads devoted to it.

I think the MD was peak sega and leaves behind a better legacy than the DC. Shooters, RPGs, platformers... well maybe fighting the DC has it up on

  6. no way. Dreamcast is easily Sega's best system ever.

  7. I dunno, my problem with the DC is that there is only a handful of great games that aren't available on other platforms (MVS/arcade, ps2, XBOX) or are inferior to other current games within the genre. The breadth of the MD library counts for alot IMO.

    ChuChu Rocket
    Daytona USA 2001
    Gunbird 2
    King of Fighters 98
    Project Justice
    Sega Rally 2
    JetSetRadio
    Mars Matrix
    Berserk
    Shenmue
    Soul Calibur
    Third Strike
    Zero Gunner 2

that's just me though. we already have a thread for this though, so we don't really need to get into it.

  9. I have a GBA. I never play it. I need it like I need another hole in my head. I'm back to using my neo pocket because it doesn't suck.

The dreamcast not only has a pile of great games that were never released on another system, but also ones never released outside Japan.

Herzog Zwei is still damn fun. Thunder Force 3 also kicks all kinds of ass still. Don't forget SOR2, Shinobi 3, Ghouls N Ghosts, and Gunstar Heroes. A lot of their great games aged fine. Gunstar is better than Contra SS easily, treasures peak IMO.

    Naw.

-Tennis2k2 DC is still the best tennis game ever.
-Sega Rally 2 is pretty much the pinnacle of racing game design, unless you dock marks for the port.
    - VOOT is pretty much the best mech game ever.
    2d fighters? Forget about it
    - Daytona online racing? Crazy fun
    - Chu Chu Rocket and Puzzle Fighter? Two of the best traditional and wacky puzzle games covered.
    - 2D shooters? Crazy stuff

The DC is still pretty much the best multiplayer system ever.
