It look definately better than GTA/Vice City engine. I think, they used a new and improved one for Manhunt. I will try to rent it, once my HV gets it, since I am very interested in it.

Yeah. Didn't you know State of Emergency was a stealth game?Originally Posted by Captain Vegetable

Any impressions of this yet? I'm thinking about getting it, but, to put it bluntly, I'm afraid it might suck.
That fear is warranted... no pre-release reviews is usually the Kiss of Death (last big game that happened that didnt have pre-release reviews was Tomb Raider Angel of Darkness).Originally Posted by elfneedsfood
I just saw this today. Its like Tenchu except it makes me feel uneasy. Damn that was nasty.

I picked this up today at work. It plays alot like Metal Gear Solid. There's radar (although enemies only appear on your radar if you can see or hear them) and you're basically sneaking up on people and killing them. The atmosphere is alot different, though. Very gritty, with deserted streets and alleys. I'm pretty sure it isn't using the GTA III engine. It's a nice looking game. I can't say how good it is yet, because I've only played about half an hour. I can say that it is disgutingly brutal. Stabbing a man in the face repeatedly with a shard of glass brutal. Fun so far, although it's very slow paced.
The headset seems like it would be a gimmick, but I don't have one so I can't say.
apparently, you can even taunt the enemies with the headset. they can't make out any words, but if they hear you, they'll know you're close.
SoK thanks for the early impressions. Please let us know more. I for one am intrigued now, since you first sentence didn't feature the words "It Sucks".
