Thread: Search Feature

  1. Finally bothered to search for the inclusion list.

TNL Ultra Hyper Word List 2004 Edition mk. 1:

2d 3d psx ps2 ps1 gc gcn ms rez vga rgb pc usb ram ico php asp nes n64 ff1 ff2 ff3 ff4 ff5 ff6 ff7 ff8 ff9 ffx rpg gba gbc vhs dvd cd ddp ddr cvs svc snk neo ng dc ost tcp udp ip

Give me more to add. After a bit of that, I'll have the board reindex the search terms (boy oh boy, that'll be fun) and you can search for "ico rez rgb mode" to your heart's content.

    Don't forget "fag" and "gay".

  8. the search function itself still isn't working correctly. example: a user goes to search for a specific set of posts after entering a keyword, chooses to have all the results as "posts" instead of threads in ascending order. however, the programming will display any/all results in "descending" order as if you didn't select anything at all. you still have to hit back, and refresh. that's not only time-consuming, but an inconvenience and should be patched up.

  9. Well it makes it difficult to search for sequels, example:

Street Fighter II or Street Fighter 2
Final Fantasy IV or Final Fantasy 4

The last part is under 4 letters and for some reason even though the word is far over that limit it's still gives you the restriction message.

If any part is under 4 letters it rejects the search no matter how many letters are in the search, is there any way that this can be fixed?

You forgot "Arc the Lad"... that's like a triple word bonus

  10. Werewolf: Just do SF2, FF4 or leave the numbers off. We can't index individual numbers, that would be crazy in terms of storage and search indexing.

Bahn: That's probably specific to Beta 4. Moving to a new beta necessitates redoing all the code patches we've done, so I don't think it's viable until a release canidate hits unless it's a major bug. When RC-1 gets here, we'll talk.

Ok, redoing the search index now.
