So I picked up the new OXM for the Otogi demo and left the main screen of the disc playing through its videos when I was done. They had a montage video of a bunch of upcoming XBox games and the last one was Star Wars: Republic Commando which I haven't heard of yet.
It looks to be a squad-based FPS about eradicating alien species in a similar way to Starship Troopers, although it could just be you playing the leader and issuing orders. The graphics were really pretty but the view window is so small it's hard to tell if that was just FMV or recorded realtime. Anyone have any idea about this?

Oops. I did'nt notice it was an FPS. I read the part about squad based gameplay and assumed it was like Force Commander.

The video you watched was just FMV. I seen it during E3. Looked like a SW version of Aliens to me. I dont think there even has been any gameplay shots yet.

I saw when it first got announced around E3, looked pretty cool in the video. It's one of the games I'm hoping LucasArts does right. Could be their replacement for Dark Forces (since it went and got all Jedi on us)

XBN has an "EXCLUSIVE FIRST LOOK!!!!!" feature on Republic Commando in this month's issue (March). Oh man, it looks fantastic. The graphic engine is on par with Halo, if not better. The suits of armor look insane.
As far as the review reports, it's going to take place between movies II and III. It was mentioned that this isn't going to be a "heroic" type game either, meaning no Jedi, no Han Solo swooping in to save the day, etc. It's going to be gritty, dark, and threatening. I like threatening.
It was also mentioned that they'll be getting Jango Fett himself (Temuera Morrison) to voice the clone troopers, with a few sound-alikes for variety. They cite the fact that identical twins never sound the same as a valid reason for this.
It's supposed to release this Fall. I'll be there day one.

Yeah, I just got done reading that and it sounds slick as hell. It sure looks pretty in screenshots, I hope it plays as good as it looks.
