It's all relative, except it's even shitter when somebody who does like some types of Bemani isn't supportive of the entire genre.
I like Platformers but I hate Bubsy 3-D. I guess I'm not very supportive of the genres.

So am I supposed to like Beatmania DaDaDa as well?

There are shitty bemani games out there. I consider those to be Para Para (You don't even need the game...it's square dancing) and any DDR after 4th Mix+. Para is just plain stupid and DDR offers no challenge at all. Thats why I only play Beatmania II/III and Pop'N. They're still fun and they both challenge me. If you want to Para so bad (Which by the way, hasn't that whole craze been dead for.....ever?) then go buy a Para cd and do the stupid dance. Look! Instant Para Para!

If you don't like Para, don't play.
Don't you pro-Para people EVER get tired of that overused crap?

Stop getting butt hurt over it.

I enjoyed watching the otaku scum waving thier arms about at Otakon.
It made me feel good about myself.

Sl1p, you'll find that Shidoshi is quite incapable of seperating his opinion from fact, and as a result, makes blanket, asanine statements about the "correctness" or "truth" of his opinion, forgeting it is just that...an opinion.

He makes an attempt at invalidating others sence of satisfaction and the methods it is derived from if not in exact accordance with his own, calling them and their methods names like "stupid," "uncultured," and making indications that they have, one way or another, "ruined" the "essence" of any given entertainment medium. Especially if that medium is Japanese.

Engaging him in an argument is an excercise in futility, and I would recomend nodding your head and smiling, while letting him have his judgemental opinions and prejudices.

But then again, so do you. And as a testament as to the correctness and effectiveness of my advice on the situation, I just nod my head and smile at you while letting you have your judgemental opinions and prejudices...and it always works.

This must be some cultural thing.

I still remember guys in arcades in Hong Kong picking up cute girls at video arcades seemingly entirely on their Para Para prowess. It was weird. It was huge phenomena in HK a few years back.

This is not Hong Kong, and this is not a few years back.

This is Crofton Maryland. And Para Para is GAY!

Well, there was that FLAMING gay who monopolized PPP at Otakon...

However, I'd rather more "Otaku scum" playing dancing-type games- too many of them are waaaaaaay fat.

ParaPara was fun. I loved the Eurobeat music and still listen to lots of the songs (thanks to Initial D also) while driving around town. Yeah it's kinda girly but who cares. I met some cool people at arcades who were interested in it, but more importantly had fun doing the routines. You could spend time to learn the routines but also could just screw around on the platform looking like a jackass.

... so ParaPara might not be popular anymore but I thought it was fun.

It's videogames though. It's stupid, it's gay, it's a waste of time, we like it. It doesn't matter anymore. We're all nerds. It's just petty to debate over what level of gay our favored videogame brings us to. One of you is banging on a Playskool toy and the other is wiggling his hands over one. We are all playing with toys here. Get over it.

Did anyone notice that the Eye Toy has a weird psuedo PPP thing going on? HIT THE NOTES WITH YER HANDS!

I've played PPP like, 4 times, and it always feels weird. It's funny watching other people play, but I always feel really embarassed to do it myself. I once saw a really huge fat anime kawaii baka girl play it at RVGL, and i threw up the pizza I was eating in the bathroom. It was just....wrong.

Pop N Music is cute and funny. Smile(the mummy) is the best character ever. I've played it like once tho, so don't ask me about the gameplay.
