wait, and buy one when Half Life or Doom come around. that's as long as you have something else to put into the comp in the mean time.
get it fixed
look into getting a new one
to make a long story short, the built-in fan on my current video card is about to die on me. i've had it for a little more than a year. do i go ahead and put the warranty into effect, wait who knows how long, and get it fixed? or do i spend the $$$ and get a new one?
i currently have a vistiontek geforce4 t1 4200 128mb ram card.
i'm open to suggestions.

i would just have them send you a new fan. If they won't i think they make specialty heatsinks/fans for video cards that you could just put on yourself. No need to waste all that money

Seriously, if you can afford it, go for one of the ATI models around. The GF4 is so 8 days ago.
