I think most of the people here will agree that a game should be scored on how fun it is, and how much one can enjoy it... not how technically competent it is.

if bugs completely fuck up your game and force you to reload or restart your game, hell yes the game's score should reflect that. technical competence goes hand in hand with how fun a game is. since when do we overlook bugs in games? especially major ones? if any other game shipped with this many bugs (i.e. enter the matrix) it would've been ripped apart

On second thought, I'd probably have given KOTOR a B as well. Overall, a good experience, but there's some nagging flaws that annoyed me.

-Carth bug (never happened to me though)
-Clunky battle system
-One dimensional Sith ( "Haha, I am so evil" )
-class based system feels restrictive to me
-water world was slow and boring (for me at least)
-unskippable travel to planets with that lame mini-game
-swoop bike racing could have been 10x better
-fake choices (unless you really need a skill level over 28 to hack open the sub bay doors)

But the pluses definitely outweigh the minuses.

Yea now that it's been mentioned, I think it got a B due to "flawed game mechanics" or something like that. But I enjoyed our little argument nonetheless!

I'll get my issue from work today (blarg) and bring it back to examine the issue (and uhh, the issue) more closely. I still think we're going to find the Billy Hatcher review is a bit much in about a month. Wonder if they fixed the horrible pop-in the demo had... that shit was downright distracting.

This statment is laughable. Gun Grave has no redeeming features whatsoever. At least P.N.03 took some skill to finish. Mind you, I ain't saying that P.N.03 is the end-all-be-all of action games, but Gun grave was as shallow as they come.

I bet some people here can argue with your GG statement. I havent played P.N.03 yet, but I tell you that GG was definately a DECENT action game.
