I received this email from ESPN VIDEOGAMES:

You may have received an email recently in which John Madden was inappropriately
portrayed. Visual Concepts, producer of ESPN Videogames, regrets this and
apologizes. Such tactics are not indicative of how we normally conduct business,
and we have tightened approval procedures to prevent such mistakes from happening
in the future. ESPN did not approve the previous correspondence and has had a
terrific personal and working relationship with John Madden.

It was just a cartoon inside one of their emails that showed John Madden from behind playing ESPN, and it said something about "Even the other guy loves ESPN Football" or something to that effect.
