LA Gamestop hosts Soul Calibur II countdown tonight

While awaiting the clock's countdown to midnight, Gamestop invites Soul Calibur II fans in the Los Angeles area to celebrate with free food, refreshments, and a variety of game-related festivities.

The event will begin at 7 P.M. (PST) and culminate at the stroke of 12 A.M. with a mass Soul Calibur II purchase frenzy the likes of which America will never see again. The five hour slow soul burn will include video game tournaments, contests, and an "enter-to-win" sweepstakes in which the winner will recieve an official Soul Calibur II arcade unit.

So all people in the area, or anyone with a cross-country plane ticket ready, would do well to stop at the GameStop located at:

the NYC event was pretty crowded. bigger than the EB in the Manhattan Mall, but smaller then the Gamestop across the street. i think just over 100 people showed up. first 50 got a bag o' swag which contained a copy of the strat. guide, and throughout the event they were randomly picking people for additional goods (l.e. strat. guide, wallscrolls, soundtracks, mcfarlane sc2 figures, and a litho signed by mcfarlane showing spawn fighting necrid). pizza and cans of soda were given out to everyone with that had a preorder.

mtv and g4 were also there interviewing people. i got in on the g4 interview and i can be seen popping in and out of the mtv spot during one interview.
