Regardless what Sony does, yes, MS will go on. My statement basically is my stand on whatever Sony is currently planning with PS3. It doesn't shock me one bit that they are engaged with development of a new platform.

Should Sony take their time? If they expect to contain their existing userbase, yes - that would be wise.

Agreed! I think we were both making the same point. I think Sony needs to look at how the public shunned Sega because of overpopulation of new systems. If they are not careful and release something too soon, this is exactly what they will get.

I agree with unit003. I just bought a PS2 in may (02) and to this day it's been 6 months since i got it...so i have had it for about 6 months...Anyway, I just got the network adapter, and a wireless router and bridge for a wireless connection...which works great by the way.... But...that's a lot of money into the ps2, plus all my games....we're talkin 8 to 9 hundred or even more! In 3 to 4 years....my PS2 will still be fairly new if not getting to the point of where it actually deserves to be called a "used" system. I don't want to have to sell my ps2 because the ps3 is coming out right after ps2 actually sets in on the market. If i do sell..the price won't be nearly as much for the buyer, because of the release of the big new system...so the guy that might wanna buy the ps2 from me...is probably already lookin at a ps3 himself. I mean, don't get me wrong...PS3 will be absolutely amazing and i can't imagine how powerfull it will really be. But i don't want to hassle with all the buying and selling so soon. And if i sell my PS2 early....like unit said....i'll get a good ammount of money for it...but it would have to be months before the PS3 is out, and if it were months....i'd be stuck with no PS2, and that's the only system i have...and that's no good at all is it? I think Sony might wanna think about releasing this one too soon. I sure wish they would....

u do realize ps3 is only gonna be good till everyones elses hardware comes out n the real gamers go to the quality and can wait the *gasp* meagure months between the crappy mud haze covered ps3 version of gta6 and the xbox 2 gta6 thatll be 100x better hmm just like ps2 and xbox now or ps2 and any game thats also on gc right now hmm. fact is ps1 came out ooo everyone got excited the n64 and dc come out n eveyrthing else and make ps1 look like crap for power reasons, then hmm lets see ps2 comes out everyone that cant count 1 and realize a year was in between ps2 release and xbox/cube will clamour about the games pfht whatever anything thats out on ps2/xbox/and cube ps2 isnt the version im buying, simply cause im not blind or deaf or retarded, are there really that many final fantasy and resident evil nerds out there to keep a system alive 10 years from now? specially when capcom n square etc are dealing *gasp* the big evil Nintendo
