I figure this semester I'll keep going to work everyday to support my family. I suspect this trend will continue for the next couple of decades. Ahhh, school days.... a mostly fond, if hazy, memory.

i'm taking bullshit classes. Fundamentals of Microsoft Windows, Jogging (P.E. requirement), and some math class which i need to head on over too right now if i want to find parking. 5 credits total, but that's my own fault for registering last thursday.
wish there was something in my major that was open, but any class i tried to get was conflicting with one class already added, or filled. i hate school.
I graduated in may. Feels really weird not going to school in September.
This is my final year at University of Toronto. I'm finishing off a double major in Poli-sci and History. After that, I might either go to Humber, Carlton or Concordia, for Journalism. This year I'm taking some pretty cool courses like "U.S. Foreign Policy," "Quebec since the conquest" and "Crime and Punishment in the Early Modern Europe."
Yippie.
Frankly, I'm worried about this whole "journalism." Apparently, you have to be *gulp* good. They want to interview you and make sure you speak english not shitty.
We'll see how it goes.
See you in a year, Icepop![]()
I hope you choose Concordia. It is a really cool school (and I will still be there next fall). The journalism program is quite competitive and you do have to do an interview (and I think have a portfolio). Having a degree under your belt (especially since it's history) will certainly carry a lot of weight. I would spend time this year working on your portfolio this year.Originally Posted by Brisco Bold

*edit* checked... it says, unless I'm ignoring something else:
Two or three samples of journalistic endeavors, if you have them. They are not required.
I went to my first day of my first year of Community College today.
It wasn't that bad, much better than high school for sure. I have a few gaps in my schedule so I suppose I'll be putting my GBASP to use.
One game related anecdote from the day: I was sitting between classes in the lounge area trying to go over my Spanish notes. In the lounge area is a snack bar, a bunch of couches, some computers, and in the center a piano. Well, I knew that having a piano in the center of the room for anyone to use couldn't possibly lead to anything good. Far too many young people think they're musicans when they aren't.
I was correct.
A kid sat at this pianoa for the better part of an hour trying to play just about every nerd song you could think of. Star Wars Theme, Star Trek Theme, X-Files theme, he knew 'em all. Poorly. He's stumble through them, hitting many, many wrong notes and playing everything quite s-l-o-w-l-y.
He even topped it all of with: Aeris' theme from FFVII. The horror!
I thought you were gay.... i guess not.
I'm a senior in high school.
I'm tired as hell all the time and I work around complete jackasses outside of a few classes.
Here's hoping it flys by me.
