I'm fucked....

My computer won't boot up...

I just accidentally switched the power off on the power strip while trying to plug in the playstation, and now whenever I boot up the computer, I get some "stop message" on a blue screen.

It says that if this is the first time i've seen the screen, I should restart. I did, and the same thing happened. Then it says that I should check for bios updates or that if a program is mentioned in the error message, that i should disable it. But mine doesn't mention any programs, just lots of X's and letters and numbers.

I'm using windows 2000, and the blue screen comes up when the status bar gets alittle past half way.

It also freezes when I try to go to safe mode... so essentially i'm fucked.

*sigh*

Thank the lord... I only had to unplug the remote control reciever for the new TV card, and it booted up properly.

Kind of funny how a simple thing like that can totally fuck up everything in a computer

kinda like the time I bought a new modem and after installing the driver, it wouldn't start up, so I had to yank it outta there.

I would still get ahold of a copy of Norton Systemworks and run WinDoctor. If you get that error again, boot off of your Win2k cd and repair the installation.
