Disneys Extreme Skate Adventure
Last night I found myself at Best Buy just checking out some stuff. Actually, I was there to pick up Unreal Championship since my friends were bugging me to play with them (Seriously, get pc's people....a GOOD one). Anyways, so I'm looking through the XBOX games and I notice a game that I've never heard of-
Enter Disneys Extreme Skate Adventure.
So at first I'm like HO DAMN! This has got to be amazing! Amazingly bad! So I check out the back of the case and I see that theres a Neversoft logo and a promise of Tony Hawk 4 gameplay.
Tony Hawk 4, Simba riding a skateboard? Gentlemen, I believe we have a no-lose situation!
So I took a crazy chance (If you get that disney joke then you're about as insane as me) and bought the game.
WOW~
It's great. Really really great. It's like Tony Hawk 4, with Disney characters and settings but slower for kids. I am in love!
The create a player on this game is more limited than Tony Hawk 4 (Less clothes), but when you can give your kid mickey mouse ears well..then it dosen't matter how limited it is.
Gameplay is exactly the same as Tony Hawk. Theres an option to set your controls exactly to the THPS4 controls, complete with manuals and reverts. One thing I need to point out are the levels. These things are gigantic and god knows why they did this for a little kids game. It's almost like they decided to start practicing for THUG while developing this one.
Disneys Skate Adventure is obviously a good game if you're a THPS fan. One thing you must know about this game is the difficulty of the challenges. This game is HARD. As in, I consider myself pretty good at THPS and I've failed some of these challenges a few times over. Some of the challenges will make you scratch your head and wonder how in gods name a child is supposed to do all this. It's really messed up..but its so great.
And as with every Neversoft game it comes complete with a great soundtrack. Okay so maybe not this time around considering that the soundtrack contains such artists as Smash Mouth, Jump5, Reel Big Fish and Lil Romeo who oddly enough is an unlockable character. On the down-downside the game only has about 12 songs total. The good part? Custom soundtracks for the XBOX version. Now you can live your dreams of Hilary Duff never leaving Disney! Rock and roll!
It's a very solid skateboarding game and I suggest that you guys at least give it a rental.

I got it at Best Buy for $34.99. I think it was on sale since all the tags said $39.99.

The NS name is most likely there due to fact that the game was built using the THPS engine.
Oddly enough, I share Sl1p's enthusiasm for this game. I'm a huge fan of the genre, and the promise of THPS meets Disney is so damn random that I couldn't resist.
Right now I don't see myself getting this anytime soon, but I definetly will once the price drops.

And could you be a little more specific as to the similarities between Tony 4 and this? Any radical changes to the core gameplay?
This game does look interesting, but I don't think I'd want to pay more then $20 for it.
