Yes, it's a new DC shooter!
Maybe, I'm waiting on opinions.
No, I have no interest in the game.
No, I will buy it only on another console.
No, I will download it only.
From videos, Border Down looks better (that is looks like something I would enjoy more) than RTF and I've never liked the R-type gameplay model very much to begin with. I have a JPS2 so importing is no big deal for me. If the consoles were reversed, I'd still be buying Border Down. It also helps that I can play through VGA and with an arcade stick on the DC.
I think it's perfectly legidimate not to want to hook up a console for a single game though, even going so far to buy another game which may not be quite as good. Saying this is an elitism mentality is just silly.

Post-college, pumpkin-defenestrating, tricycle racing angst. Whoosh.
Refusing to buy a game for a system you already own, doesn't sound like you're all that interested in the game to begin with, does it? If there was talk of a port to another current system, that would be different . . . but that doesn't seem to be the case with BD or Grev.Originally Posted by Ammadeau

I think part of Border Down's appeal is it is a original effort. How many home console horitzonal shooters have we had in the past few years? Let me rephrase that, how many that weren't R-Type or Gradius?

-Darius R GBA

Then there's Progear and a few Neo efforts that are beyond the reach of most players. Border Down is filling a niche not just on DC but across console gaming. Hopefully it does live up to that. *-neo
And those are ports of 16 bit games. Point well taken.Originally Posted by neoalphazero
I've been interested in BD since it was first announced, before I even started posting on TNL. Not only because I want a new horizontal shooter (my preference is for vert, but come on, I need a good hori every once in a while at least), but because I've been really anxious to see G.Rev do their thing (And no, Doki Doki Idol Star Seeker doesn't count). BD was pretty much the reason they went independant, and I'd really like to see them do well with it. I want to see them live up tot heir Taito heritatage with this game.
Yes, I pre-ordered. But Lik-Sang fucked up the order so it will arrive later than expected.
Got a shipping notification from VGD today. Whee!
Who here will be buying it from a local import store tomorrow?
Just ordered the LE from NCSX along with Y's Eternal LE, an FFTA pin, and some mini Dragon Quest slime plushies!

omg TNL epics!
Bought it (regular version, only ¥5795) and playing it at home right now. Bleh cover art but neat-looking disc design.
See you folks over at Score Attack!
