Official: Worms 3D

Yeah, so I got myself the leaked copy of the Worms 3D WIP beta demo. For the most part it's pretty cool, although if you're an efficinado of the series you'll have to do some major re-learning of how to aim thanks to the 3D perspective. You'd almost automatically try and aim with the mouse, but to aim you have to go into the first person perspective (Q) and aim with the arrows. Movement is WSAD style. Graphics seem OK, they were a bit studdery on my machine but again it's a WIP and I couldn't set any video options. Plays virtually the same as classic Worms games (keeping in mind the 3D change). I'm looking forward to the gold release of this one, and hopefully the legit beta will be a lot more optimized.

Oh, and airstrikes have a nifty new cinema which takes them like 20-25 seconds to actually complete.

The "official" demo still hasn't been released, they say it's going to be early October.

i thought they had a playable demo at e3 according ign. my the leak you found was that?

Legit demo or not, the version I played was really slipshoddy. It also crashed my computer a little while after I played it. :S

update: demo i played is solid, exactly what i expected it to be...feel slike a 2d worms game in a 3d world. getting a feel for the "touch" need is going to be a steep curve though
