Defective Systems?

I've never had any problem with any of my systems except the Dreamcast.

My SNES works (With it's lovely tint of piss yellow mind you)
My PSone works
My NES worked until I lost it.
My Genesis worked until I lost it >.>
My Saturn works (But I hardly use it right now)
My PStwo works.

I've only had a problem with my DC as I stated above. The problem was the connector cable to for the CD drive had come loose. I checked their technical forums, found the same problem, followed their instructions (Which was slapping the black part of the CD drive a few times) and it worked.

Apart from a used Sega CD which decided it didn't want to power up anymore I've only had problems with two systems in all my years of gaming. Playstation and US Ps2. My new Ps2 is nearly a year old and going strong so, heres hoping the first one was just a fluke. Oh I also had some Dirty Disc Errors with my Xbox(which was new, as were the discs) so I don't know what's up with that. Also, I had a D-O-A Refurbished Gamecube.

Oh and before everyone jumps on their high horse and says that it is the user's fault for defective consoles, mind explaining why my atari 2600 still works? How about my Saturn which I've had for roughly 8 years and it has seen a hell of a lot more play time than my Playstation. As far as defective consoles go, it's all in the "luck" of the draw, with some systems being more prone to malfunction. It's not always the user. Not everyone is stupid enough to play a Playstation on the carpet and spill soda on it, or whatever.

Let's see here... I'm on my seventh PSX, third DC, third PS2, and Game Gears have crapped out on my twice, aside from that, no problems.

Man, What the hell are you doing to all those poor PSX?? Seven of them???

Ive had a Playstation die of a dodgy lazer, skipping fmv, jumpy etc just stopped loading games one day.

And recently my launch Japanese PS2 has given up the ghost with the usual disc read then nothing.

I've had a atari lynx die on me because my relatives got ahold of it while I was gone. God only knows what they did to it.

I had my first psx die on my, I wore the poor thing out I guess...it just wouldn't come on anymore.

My first nintendo finally wore out, I could get it to work but DAMN it was a pain wiggling the cart, blowing in it, dusting the cart..waiting for the moons to align, gravity to be perfect, just so I could play it.

I'm on my second DC and its about done, I dunno WTF is the matter with em, cause it really pisses me off. I'll be playing and for no reason it'll reset and goto the navigation screen. Sometimes it won't even load the games, both of em have done this. Really pisses me off too, when I'm playing Skys of Arcadia and it goes "wiiiiiirrrrrrrrr" and goes to the menu screen and I'm starring at a bouncing clock.

I just had shitty luck with PSXes, I didn't mind having to replace most of the PSXes, since they were under EB's 2 year warranties at the times of break-down. Barring one, which I had to buy again. All of my other replacement-needing consoles have been under the 2 year EB warranty, which is why I swore by it until EB started replacing them with refurbs instead of new units. Ironically, my refurbed PS2 has lasted me about a year now, which is longer than any of my other PS2s.

Only thing I’ve notice is my PS1 has hard time playing CGI, it enjoys to skip frames every now and then, besides that all my systems love me.
