Abandon peace all ye who enter

Titus Software has announced a new Beat-em-up/RPG for Xbox and GameCube this summer, called Barbarian. Bringing a strange mix of action, adventure, and role-playing together, the game will allow players to control one of 10 different characters trying to rid the land of Barbaria from evil using a healthy dose of butt-kick.

As in all good beat-em-ups, there's plenty of fighting to do. Players can literally break apart levels to reveal alternate routes, or just use the debris as weapons. Rune attacks and magic will also give some variety to the action, but the RPG-like leveling system will give stat mongers a hoot. Upgrade your barbarian with new combos and weapons with skill points, and dish out even more pain.

Highlights include:
  • RPG upgrade system with experience points for new attacks and stats
  • 8 player-battle royales
  • 10 huge fighting arenas
  • Interactive environments- everything is a weapon!
  • Mini-quests and unlockable bonuses
  • 10 different characters, each with a unique storyline and quests

Barbarian will be out Summer of 2002.
