Thread: What Cell Phone Do You Carry?

  1. I enjoy reading old pages in this thread. It's like a museum timeline of technology.

My friend got a DroidX. He complains about the battery life. I'm assuming that's motoblur fucking things up.

I'm still happy about my PSPdroid. ..er, a PSPgo and Droid1 taped together.

  2. Battery life will suck on Android if you don't configure it with the battery in mind. A less tech savy woman at work just got a Droid incredible, and she wanted me to show her how to use it. I showed her a bunch of cool features, and found myself telling her she should turn them all off haha. Tell him to pick a couple widgets to leave, but to put all syncing on long intervals, don't use very active live wallpaper, and turn off GPS/wifi when not in use,

  3. I should have checked sooner, but for all original Droid owners you can manually update (legit release) to 2.2. Verizon is slow as balls with over the air updates.

  4. Yeah, they really drag their asses with the updates. Where did you find the update? Link?

Are you talking about version FRG01B or FRG22? I would rather wait for the FRG22 to avoid doing it twice.

It is FRG01B. I haven't noticed anything weird. Looks like FRG22 is coming in 2 days so it's not a long wait.

When I searched for the update I didn't see anything about FRG01B being stopped and updated so soon.

  6. After my last post I decided to just say fuck it and install it. I just got really tired of waiting. So far so good, I also installed the Flash player. The phone runs a lot quicker. I didn't notice a whole lot of difference with the browsers though. It might have been a little faster but it wasn't that much. I've only tried it over wifi though. Ahh, finally 5 home screens.

  7. Anyone have enough time with the Droid X yet? Pretty sure I'm upgrading at the end of the month so we can get a plan discount and I trust most of you here more than customer comment pages on vendor sites.

  8. I heard it's buggy.

  9. Wait the Droid X and Droid 2 are different phones? Why would they do that? It's confusing.

  10. yeah the 2 is just an update to the 1, a much better hard keyboard with a 1ghz processor and Froyo.

The X has a giant screen and no hard keyboard, HDMI output and 720p video.

Im not a big fan of the X to be honest, I hate the OS changes motorola has inflicted it with, and its too damn big.

The incredible is still my pick, but the droid 2 is very good if you want a hard keyboard.
