Thread: What Cell Phone Do You Carry?

  1. From what i've read, you're grandfathered in until you upgrade your phone, then you have to choose a plan.

  2. The data plans are 2GB ($30), 5GB ($50), and 10GB ($80).

I'm currently paying $30 for unlimited and I just signed a new 2-year deal, so I won't have to worry about this bullshit for a while. Most times, with Verizon, if their pricing plans change they let you keep the old one even if you're due to renew. But if you change, you can't go back.

As a goof I just checked my data usage on Verizon's website. I'm constantly using data (web surfing, GPS, etc) and I'm somewhere around .7 GB for the month (data/voice resets for me on the 20th of every month), so even if I did have to change, the 2GB plan would be fine.

We really don't know yet, they havent clarified it. I can tell you this, with grandfathered stuff and Verizon..

They let you keep it for forever, BUT if the features need to change for any stupid reason they come up with you are forced out. If I had to put money on it, if you have a data package now on say, a blackberry, you can upgrade to a new BB and keep the plan...BUT if you want to go iphone or 4G, you will be forced into the new packages.

So in other words, might be a good idea to bite the bullet and get one of the medicore 4G phones now, while its still unlimited, because then you can pop your 4g sim into another lte phone no problem..

  6. I bought a Droid Incredible 1 off of Craigslist almost two months ago so that I wouldn't have to sign a 2-year plan. I wonder if being on a month-to-month will affect whether I stay on the unlimited plan when I upgrade my phone one or two years later.

I mentioned this on the Haul thread, but in case you miss it, Peggle is free for Android phones via the Amazon app store for TODAY ONLY!

  8. Wildkat, can you get us a deal when iPhone 5 comes out? I will probably change carrier too (currently T-Mobile, contract expires in september).

  9. Afraid not, I can't do shit with the pricing on iPhones, the way the dickbags at Apple have it setup we only get about 1/8th the profit compared to any other phone becuase you know, we should be honored to even be able to sell it, but even then they REQUIRE us to send them all the sales data every night, and if we sell one for less that $199 for a 16GB, we could get the products pulled. They still aren't letting us have any iPad2s.

    Boo, Hiss.
