I'm gonna upgrade soon, which reminds me.... what camera is the best for taking pics? I don't own a camera (noob) so when I do take pics I would like them to be semi-ok. Help please.

Alright, it's finally time for me to move off the ol' Verizon family plan that I've been leeching from for quite some time. I think I was allowed to, being that I programmed the whole thing back when I worked for Radio Shack, but whatever.
I've been really looking into Helio and want to jump on it before that new deal with Virgin sets in and they disable the things I was most looking forward to or something. I like the Ocean, too. It's perfect. My biggest gripe with Verizon was the nickel-and-diming they did over downloads. $3 ringtone? Fuck you. I could have hacked my E815, but I had to get it replaced with one of the newer firmware after my first CRASHED AND DIED FOR NO APPARENT REASON. I want total control of this device I buy under this digital service that I'm paying for that works just about everywhere. Nothing else.
So, questions are thus if anyone in the current cell phone business can help me:
• I want to keep my number and am aware not to cancel the phone under Verizon first, because that would be stupid. Thing is, this plan will be using my name and the Verizon plan is in my mother's name. Is it possible to transfer the number like that?
• Heard anything about this deal between Virgin and Helio that would be a problem?

I may have something in the "left behind pile" we have. Ill take a look. EDIT: we don't have squat for GSM phones right now other than an acient Siemens thats locked to T-Mob.
Chaoo: You should be able to port just fine, you will need the SSN of the account holder and the account number for the Verizon acct, let the guy activating know that it isnt under your info.
