Thread: Gridrunner ++

  1. Gridrunner ++

Standard rules apply- start at level 1, go until you die, post score. There's not a difficulty slider to be found so there's no need to worry aobut it.

The game demo can be found here- http://llamasoft.co.uk

For those too lazy to follow the first link on the page above, you can spend a whopping $8.29 on one of the coolest PC shooters available here- https://gbp.swreg.org/cgi-bin/b.cgi?...d=0&q=1&t=Moo!

    Demo version-

    1. 15,673,648, Level ?, tassleho
    2. 4,273,536 - Level ?, DeSangre
    3. 2,650,963, Level ?, MechDeus
    4. 52,580 Level 1, Jx2
    5.

    Full version-

    1. 20,300,514 Level 45, tassleho
    2. 18,208,536 Level 31, deSangre
    3. 15,107,566 Level 27, James
    4. 14,744,061 level 24 gameoverDude
    5. 13,115,700 Level 24, amerrykan

Arse on Fire Edition, Endurance Mode

    1. 3,363,793, Level 10, James
    2. 3,208,277, Level 9, DeSangre
    3. 2,020,250, Level 6, rickrock87
    4.
    5.

Arse on Fire Edition, Normal Mode

    1.
    2.
    3.
    4.
    5.

And finally, for those who don't like using a credit card online, I did it with no problems whatsoever and had my game downloaded and installed in under 5 minutes. It's only a 2.5 Mb download, very 56k-friendly.

  2. Jx2 / Demo Version / 52,580

I didn't even touch the mouse for that one.

  3. Full version: 3,861,408 - level 16

I really need to replace my crappy unresponsive mouse..

  4. Gridrunner++ instructions and strategy, now back where they belong on the Llamasoft page-

  5. amerrykan - 12,356,049 - Level 21 ("A Furred I Production")

Holy fuck, is that stage tough enough? Just send in EVERYTHING from behind. A hint: The pod dropper ship will skip a beat or two every now and then. If you can't take him out when he makes his way up the screen, sit quietly in an empty space he left and hope nothing pegs you.

I had a 9.9mil score I was going to submit, but it was from when the game was originally released last year. I'd feel dirty submitting it, so I started over. Glad I did.

  7. A new 12-million point score and a new high level. Not in number one for points but I've seen level 26. So there.

Furred Eye is so. Incredibly. Evil!

  8. I need to find where I saved my full version. I was the first person ever to buy the final version you know

  9. I don't remember you, maybe you remember me from the Llamasoft forum. I contributed a lot of ideas during the beta test process. I may not have been the first, but I did purchase it the day it was released.

    Nice

Yeah, I've been around forever but don't post all that frequently, here or at the Llamasoft forums. I usually tend to chime in to show my support for Jeff on these boards though.

  11. I've started posting at Llamasoft under Jamesac, what with some bastard who doesn't even use it stealing my name before I could get it. Grrr... Are you both the same names there as here?

    James

  12. I'm "amerrykan" over there too. I haven't posted since GR++ left beta, I think, so don't look for me too hard.

If I weren't stuck in the office with no forseeable free time this week, I'd be trying to pull my score away from you, James. :P

  13. Ok, that's one block broken. I've been hovering around Furred Eye for days, but I think I can say that I'll be getting past it from now on, rather than it being me throwing tons of ships at it in the theory that I'll get through it eventually.

Level 27, Furry Frenzy, isn't that tough overall, but it's looooooooooong. You keep shooting, and shooting, and shooting, and shooting. And they don't stop coming!!!

So yeah, 15 million at last. Not bad, but if I really worked my scores in the lower levels I'd see that score a few levels earlier. Happy me anyway.

  14. I wish there was different scenery...

2,650,963 - Demo, no clue about level.
naturam expellas furca, tamen usque revenit

  15. Trust me, long about level 14 or so you begin to be thankful for no background distractions. Plus every level has different enemy styles with variations on the attack pattern, so I wouldn't notice if an elephant waltzed through my room, much less the background of the game.

  16. New version of Gridrunner ++ available at the Llamasoft forums for those who own the game. It's the Arse On Fire edition done specifically for a Llamasoft party, and it shows a larger playfield with slightly spiffier graphics here and there, and all sorts of goofy new sound effects. It also adds some new game modes and is supposed to be a hell of a lot harder, too. Hit the Gridrunner++ forum to find out how to get it.

Posted here because it's primarily a Llamasoft board member thing and this is where those people who were old members might look, and it's being distributed more as a favor for the curious by a friendly Llamasoftie than as a new release for the world.

    James

  17. Thanks for the heads up!

Got a nice new responsive mouse, but appear to have run out of free time at the moment.. damn

  18. Well, at least someone noticed.

I was kind of hoping to add a third chart for endurance mode but I don't really think anyone is playing it enough. I play Gridrunner almost exclusively in endurance mode now, it's ridiculously addictive.

    James

  19. I was able to grab a copy of Arse on Fire and just got done with a quick run - man this is fast! Got into the zone a bit and scored 1,546,125.

Would've noticed sooner but I usually only check the main board at the YakYak forums. Gotta learn to browse around a bit I guess Thanks for the heads-up James.

  20. I don't actually play the regular version any more, now that I've got my Arse on Fire. Once you've gotten used to the larger playing field and faster speed, not to mention the insanely addictive Endurance mode, you just can't go back.

    James
    my score for demo version

2,983,760 - Level ? (it's not easy to count in demo)

then: if anyone that has the full version (which I may consider getting, as I love Minter) can get AOF, why not making a table for that one too?
In the meantime, given there's not a lot of response from other users, you could strip the tables to the first 5-6 scores (at least for the moment).

    Great game anyway ^_^

  22. Good suggestions. Done and done, and I'll post my AoF score later.

    Cool!
New score on the Demo version (this time write DeSangre near the score plz lol ):
    4,273,536

I am definitely going to buy it.
    ^_^

  24. Ok - bought the game ;D
    Preliminary-lousy-score: 5,469,840 - Level 17
I am guessing we're all not using the resume best feature, right?
I thought this obvious but who knows...
EDIT: Got Arse on Fire too. Here's my first score on it (Endurance)

2,817,830 I think the level was... oh well... ^^; I forgot, but I remember the enemies, I'll get that as soon as I update the score.
    Thx
    Marco

  25. Actually, it shows your level on the high score listing. Just pop in for a quick endurance round and kill yourself off, it'll be right there at the bottom of the page.

Only total losers use the Resume Best feature for a score competition. Beginning to end in one sitting or they can start a thread of their own.

    James

  26. Almost there James:
    AOF - Endurance

    Level 9 - 3,208,277

    EDIT:
And a quick update for Normal Grid++:

    8,716,318 - Level 21 (A furred I production -_-)

  27. 5 days later, I update. Sorry, I um... totally forgot to check in here. Oops.

    James

  28. 12114640 level 21 (GR++ Full, "A Furred I Production")

"You can hear behind me now that's uh... I think they're called Blue Death." - KOF'94, "Ketsutou R&D"

  29. 14744061 level 24 (GR++ Full, "Everybody Is In The Place")

"You can hear behind me now that's uh... I think they're called Blue Death." - KOF'94, "Ketsutou R&D"

  30. Nice one! I suppose this means I ought to get back in practice, you'll be handing me my head in a day or two at this rate.
