Unless you live in bumfuck nowhere, then your scene is shit. Hell, the scene is pretty shitty in Milwaukee too. Some ok stuff, which I do attend, but unless Im missing something it isnt there.

Anyway, if I want new music I just go by reccomendations by random internet people and download as much as I can possibly listen to. Buy if am enjoying it, delete if not.

Chances are within ten miles of your house a band is playing in a basement, or a garage, or a firehall with more love, and more energy than anything you will ever hear on the radio.

No, he's right. Southern Florida, at least. Latin music, booty music, R&B, etc. What's rock? I don't know. I think we have A (as in one) rock station that plays "new rock" AKA ass.

Plus all of Orlando sucks (musicwise).

Local stuff is like 90% crappy DJs and their trance, house, hip-hop shit. Yay.

No Idea records is in Florida, and there are tons of good bands from there. Gainsville specifically has a big scene, I'm sure there is some good stuff going on around you somewhere.

I have a bunch of friends into the music scene around here, and I've worked in independant stores that kept books on when indie and local bands were playing. I've seen my fair share of loacal music and its mostly shit. There's some stuff thats decent, but 95% of the time it just plain sucks. Cross Breed, Hell on Earth, and... eh I dunno a bunch of bands I dont care to remember.

If I had the time and money to goto every little show thats going on round here, then I might, might find something of worth. But that just seems stupid to me. I'll continue to get my new music from independant radio stations that dont ever play anything in the top 40, and from friends that are able to find good music better than I.
