  1. #1751
I'm reading the Communist Manifesto. It's pretty dated.

  2. #1752
    no shit

  3. Reading Freakonomics, pretty interesting stuff.

Also My Life as a Quant.

  5. Been reading a lot of Welty's short fiction. Kind of nice to read someone with faith in humanity and in the human spirit for a change. The setting does sometimes wear a bit thin, though.

I was reading Eniac the histery of the first computer and then I got bored and put it down.

I really liked it, and I am enjoying the third a lot as well. The whole siege was pretty badass. I'm about 80% through it.

Finished her most popular short works and picked a few others at random. Great stuff, but I need a break. The setting is always the same, and it's so enmeshed with all of her characters that reading her at length gets tedious. My only other gripe is that her attempts at capturing dialect are a little stilted and inconsistent. Not a big deal, and not bad, but not exactly William Faulker.

Moved on to McCarthy's Blood Meridian which is pretty exhilarating so far. I've never read McCarthy before. His prose is so terse and rough. I'm digging the hell out of his style.

  9. McCarthy can suck on a big fat cock. I tried reading All the Pretty Horses once. I think I made it three pages. Maybe.

There is nothing artistic or deep about his refusal to abide by basic rules of punctuation. It's pretentious faggotry of the lowest order. Fuck him.

  10. You are retarded sir. The Border Trilogy is some of the best stuff out there.
