Catching Fire...
A mention of the Great God Pan by Stephen King in Just After Sunset led me to download a collection of Arthur Machen's stories. I fucking love my Kindle.

The Late Child, by Larry McMurtry
Sequel to The Desert Rose, which was a profoundly good story about a Vegas showgirl past her prime, just as the notion of a Vegas showgirl was past its prime. It's nice to revisit the cast of terribly broken people that populated the first story. Highly recommend both.
Thanks for the reminder. I had skipped this for reasons that I can't recall and which were probably stupid, considering how much I loved Everything's Eventual. Also, if you haven't read Mile 81, you should. It's only an American dollar.

About halfway through House of Leaves. I honestly can't remember the last time I've been so disoriented and creeped out by a novel.
the story of a guy who read the journal of a guy who watched the vhs tape of a guy.
It's a cool book.

I couldn't ever finish it. I got to the part where the act of a girl fisting Johnny Truant was vividly described and I closed the fucking thing for a year. I tried again later and couldn't get much further.
I like what he was trying to do. If Danielewski didn't concentrate SO MUCH on Truant's sexual capers I'd probably be able to get through it.
Also, Only Revolutions. whatthefuckidonteven
I'm on the last book/section of The Stand, myself. I'm feeling rather disappointed at where I think it's going. I hope I'm wrong.
I don't even really remember the Truant stuff in house of leaves.
I tried to start Only Revolutions.. that's about all I have to say about that.
The end of the Stand is bad.
