How is a magazine luggage? sure we all know the magazine was orginally made just so E. Storm could sale stuff, but wouldn't they be written up as two seperate businesses?

"DVD Express" only sold DVDs, and they wanted to branch out into selling games. DVD Express bought Game Cave, and transformed into "express.com". Gamefan was just part of the package.
Rumblings from various people I've talked to said that the suits liked Gamefan.com, (but not the Gamefan Network), and the magazine was just excess weight. Profitable, but not profitable enough for them.
Anyways, this is mostly hearsay, so take it as you will. Certain others around here know much more.

Kenshin's hearsay is generally correct. It's amazing how much litigation GameFan actually spawned. Basicially, as I noted in another thread a long time ago, it has been the subject of lawsuits in every iteration: (Die Hard) GameFan ---> GameCave ---> Express.com.

Oh come on now, that wasn't even arrogance... that was simply stating that you don't understand me, which you obviously don't if you do actually believe that I'm an egotistical bastard.
So, how did Bergstien factor into this exactly? I thought he was always the top dog in everything. And from my understanding, GameFan was always profitable to some degree, and helped fund a lot of other things. At least, that was where Bergie was getting his money to start all of his other stupid projects before the whole Express.com thing.
It's sad that I worked for them, and I don't even have a solid clue of what was going on out there. And it's sad that GameFan had to be a casualty of all of the stupidity - had it died because of its own problems, that I could have accepted.
And if Express.com gets out of having to pay me, maybe I should just hunt Bergstien down and pull a Mel Gibson in Payback on him.

Yeah, GameFan is dead, and I miss it, but its indirectly led me here and TNL > GameFan.
